Rihanna shares the reason for her swift departure from India, promises to return

Mumbai: Following her electrifying performance at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's pre-wedding celebration, Rihanna took to Instagram Live to express her love for India and clarify the reason behind her swift departure.

After her remarkable Super Bowl halftime show last year, Rihanna delivered a rare private concert at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's pre-wedding event on Friday night. This marked Rihanna's debut performance in India.

Post the show, the pop sensation went live on Instagram with her friend Melissa Forde. During the brief session, Rihanna declared her affection for India and assured her return, citing family obligations as the reason for her quick departure. She said, "I had the best time in India. I only had two days. The only reason I am leaving India is because my kids are (unclear audio). I have to come back."

While en route to Jamnagar airport after her performance, Melissa initiated an Instagram live session. In the video, Rihanna, initially taken aback, covered her face and exclaimed, "Is this live for real?" She then shared her love for India and conveyed her intention to return soon.

During her Friday evening performance, Rihanna mesmerized the audience with renditions of her iconic hits like "Diamonds," "Rude Boy," and "Pour It Up." She also shared the stage with Bollywood celebrities. Videos of her dancing with Janhvi Kapoor to the latter's song "Zingaat" quickly went viral on Instagram. The Ambani family joined her on stage, presenting her with flowers and dancing alongside her.

Rihanna, at the airport, graciously posed with the paparazzi and even hugged the airport security staff, creating memorable moments. Other notable international figures present at Anant and Radhika's pre-wedding bash included Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Ivanka Trump.
