Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran has an exciting year lined up, with Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire scheduled for release on December 22, coinciding with Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki.

The much-anticipated clash of these two major films has been a hot topic of discussion in recent weeks.

Prithviraj expressed his excitement over the clash, saying "I am in touch with Prashanth (Neel, director). But the fact that we are releasing alongside Hirani sir and Shah Rukh sir's film leaves everything else aside. As a film lover, I love it!"

"I am not quite sure about the promotional plans; the makers will let us know in November about their film rollout," he said.

"You have two giant films, by two giant filmmakers, starring two big stars, and they are diametrically opposite in every possible parameter, from the story to the narrative", the actor said.

As both an actor and filmmaker, Prithviraj says that such a clash is something to be celebrated. "I am going to be watching both," he said, adding, "When was the last time, we had two such big films over a holiday season?" He believes that 2023 is a great year to "celebrate Indian cinema in this manner."

Prithviraj, who recently recovered from a knee injury, celebrated his birthday in Ladakh. He said that the best "gift" he could give himself is to "get back on set and do what I do." He explained, "It's been a while since I worked on my birthday."
