Following its Golden Globe nominations, the film has now been longlisted in three prestigious categories for the 2025 BAFTA Film Awards.
The British Academy has recognised the film in the categories of Best Director, Original Screenplay, and Best Film Not in the English Language.
In the Best Film (Foreign Language) category, Kapadia’s film stands alongside notable contenders like Black Dog, The Count of Monte Cristo, and Emilia Perez. Meanwhile, the Best Director category places her among celebrated names such as Sean Baker, Brady Corbet, and Denis Villeneuve.
For Original Screenplay, the film will vie against strong competitors, including Anora, The Apprentice, and The Brutalist.
The film, starring Kani Kasruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam, and Hridhu Haroon, also secured a nomination for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards. In this category, it shares the spotlight with films like Flow, Kneecap, I'm Still Here, and The Seed of the Sacred Fig.

Earlier this year, the film made history as the first Indian feature to win the coveted Grand Prix at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. Its accolades also include the Jury Grand Prize at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards, Best International Feature at the Gotham Awards, and Best International Film at the New York Film Critics Circle.
Amid its growing global recognition, the film has been re-released in select Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, and Bhubaneswar. This follows its original theatrical release on November 22, allowing more audiences to witness its cinematic brilliance.
