Mammootty-Mohanlal starrer ‘Patriot’ wraps up shooting

Chennai: The makers of director Mahesh Narayanan’s highly anticipated action thriller 'Patriot', starring Malayalam superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal, have announced that shooting for the film has officially wrapped up.
The announcement was made via the film’s official Instagram handle, where the team wrote, “That’s a wrap. Blood, sweat, belief. #PATRIOT marches on. See you on the Big screen.” Alongside the post, the makers also shared a behind-the-scenes video featuring the cast on set.
Patriot has generated massive excitement since its announcement, bringing together acclaimed actors Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, and Revathy alongside Mammootty and Mohanlal.
A teaser released last year further heightened expectations. It opens with a voiceover: “I remember there was a time when this nation was controlled by the two of them. Together. Over these years, what they earned wasn’t just followers. Faith. Trust.”
The teaser showcases intense and intriguing sequences, with Mammootty saying, “They are going to bring social score to people,” and Mohanlal, appearing as an army general, asking, “There are three of us. Do you think you can stop us?”
Clues in the teaser suggest a plot revolving around a program called Periscope, with Kunchacko Boban portraying a character named Daniel. Nayanthara questions, “This program which is part of the student laptop scheme. Is that similar to Periscope?” while another voice asks, “Is this program watching them secretly?” The teaser ends with Mammootty prompting someone to complete the line: “Great Indian traitor… or Patriot.”
The teaser hints at a storyline centered on a group of socially responsible individuals working to thwart an illegal government attempt to monitor citizens, setting the stage for a high-stakes, action-packed narrative.
