Kriti Sanon shared her perspective on the feasibility of big-budget action films starring female protagonists, highlighting both her personal aspirations and industry challenges.

Amidst a successful year marked by the acclaim of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiyaa and the promising performance of Crew at the box office, Kriti Sanon engaged in a candid discussion about her inclination towards action-oriented roles and the hesitations faced by producers regarding such ventures.

During an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, the award-winning actress expressed her eagerness to explore the action genre while acknowledging the unpredictability of opportunities in the entertainment industry.

"No matter how many times I ask for it, God always has better plans, and it will happen when it has to happen," she said. Embracing the idea of venturing into action movies, she added, "Yes, I would love to do action." Sanon expressed a particular interest in characters like Catwoman and Wonder Woman, envisioning herself in roles that showcase her physical prowess. "I would love to wear a slick suit and be like Catwoman or Wonder Woman and do something like that. My height should come in use somewhere," said the actress.

Addressing the apprehensions of producers regarding the financial risks associated with female-led action films, Sanon emphasized the need for a shift in mindset.

"An action film usually needs a lot more budget. When people are mounting a film on a woman, they usually feel like it's risky to put in too much budget, and that's my problem. I feel like those things need to change," she asserted. Reflecting on the success of Crew, she expressed hope that its box office performance would serve as a catalyst for change, demonstrating the viability of women-led projects in driving audience engagement.

Kriti Sanon's Crew, directed by Rajesh Krishnan and featuring Tabu and Kareena Kapoor Khan, has garnered significant attention for its unique blend of heist and comedy. With impressive earnings of Rs. 44 Crore net in its first week, the film has exceeded expectations despite its mid-budget status. Sanon's involvement in the project adds to her diverse portfolio, following her recent collaboration with Shahid Kapoor in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.

Looking ahead, Kriti Sanon is set to star in Do Patti alongside Kajol and Shaheer Sheikh. Notably, this project marks her debut in production and is slated for a direct release on Netflix.
