Things will be different this year: All about 2021 Grammys

63rd Grammy awards is one among the ceremonies and cultural activities facing the brunt of the health crisis. The show, earlier scheduled for January 31st and meant to be hosted by The Daily Show's Trevor Noah, has now been shifted to March 14th. Taking safety measures into consideration things will be a little different this year, the official website notified.

No audience will be allowed this year except a small number of media and organisers. Plans call for a live red-carpet broadcast featuring performers and presenters. "Music fans from around the globe will be able to watch the dazzling show live on CBS / CBS All Access. Additionally, the GRAMMY Premiere Ceremony, where most of the 83 categories of awards are handed out, will be streamed live on GRAMMY.com," the organisers informed.

Considering the pandemic, numerous changes have been made to the production of the show. The upcoming ceremony will be held in the Los Angeles Convention Centre's outdoor portion with the show's traditional home of the Staples Centre, located practically next door, as the backdrop. Several planned programmes will likely be pre-recorded, perchance at venues other than Convention Centre. Before the pandemic, the Award show used to occupy 18,000 plus people.

With nine in eight categories, Beyonce has the most nominations for the ceremony this year. Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, and the rapper Roddy Ricch are counted among other major contenders for this year's Grammy. The list of nominees was announced on November 24th.
