Brahmastra OTT version confirms Deepika Padukone playing Ranbir's mother

Mumbai: When Brahmastra: Part One Shiva hit theatres, many viewers claimed that they saw Deepika Padukone in a few frames playing Ranbir Kapoor's mother. Those who watched the film in 2D said they did not see the actress in the film at all.
The OTT version has put all rumours to rest and confirmed that Deepika indeed appeared as Amrita. She was seen carrying baby Shiva. The scene comes just after the interval. This also hints that the actress will be part of Brahmastra Part 2- Dev.
After catching a clear glimpse of the actress, fans took to social media to celebrate and share the hope that Deepika will play a bigger and more significant role in the sequel. Deepika's character Amrita is a former member of the Brahmānsh who wielded Jalastra. Some also speculate that Ranveer Singh will play Dev, Shiva's father.
According to the film, Dev is Shiva's father and the villain Junoon played by Mouni Roy was working to release him from imprisonment. Dev was the only person who could control multiple astras at once. He also awoke the Brahmastra, a weapon that can destroy the universe, using the same skills. Amrita who was pregnant with Dev's child at the time defeated him in battle and imprisoned him as a statue on a remote island. In the end, he is seen being woken up from the bindings.
