Blackpink becomes the first female group to get over 40 million followers on Spotify

Seoul: Iconic K-pop girl group Blackpink has set a record by becoming the first female group to have more than 40 million followers on Spotify.

They are also now the most followed girl group on the platform. A few days ago, Blackpink had also broken another all-time record by surpassing 10 billion streams on the platform. It is the first girl group in history to achieve this milestone.

The group has touched several milestones since its debut in 2016 and the latest one further secured its position as one of the biggest names in the K-pop industry. They have now joined the likes of Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Adele, Selena Gomez, and Neha Kakkar.

Blackpink's music is a blend of K-pop, hip-hop, and EDM. Blackpink is one of the two K-pop groups that gained the industry love among the international community. They also performed at Coachella.

Blackpink's Jennie is expected to make their debut at Met Gala 2023. She is the global ambassador for Chanel. Rose may also attend the mega event and it will be her second appearance. She is a brand ambassador for Saint Laurent.

Jisoo is set to release a solo album in 2023.
