Arshad Warsi criticizes Prabhas' in Kalki 2898 AD, calls it "joker"
text_fieldsIn a recent podcast with Samdish Bhatia, actor Arshad Warsi did not hold back his criticism of Prabhas' portrayal in the blockbuster film Kalki 2898 AD.
While the movie shattered box office records, Warsi expressed his disappointment with Prabhas' performance, describing it as lackluster and comparing his appearance to that of a "joker."
Arshad Warsi, known for his candid opinions, praised Amitabh Bachchan's performance in the film, calling it "unbelievable." Warsi was clearly in awe of Bachchan's acting, remarking, "Amit ji was mind-blowing. I can't understand how he does it. If we had even a fraction of his power, our lives would be made. He's unreal."
However, Warsi's tone shifted when discussing Prabhas, who played the character Bhairava in the film.
Warsi lamented that Prabhas' portrayal fell far short of expectations. "Prabhas, I'm really sad. Why did they make him look like a joker? I wanted to see a character like Mad Max, someone like Mel Gibson. But what did they turn him into? I don't understand why they do this," Warsi commented.
Kalki 2898 AD featured an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone as Sumati, Disha Patani as Roxie, Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwathama, and Kamal Haasan as Supreme Yaskin. The film also had cameo appearances by notable figures like Mrunal Thakur, Ram Gopal Varma, SS Rajamouli, Vijay Deverakonda, and Dulquer Salmaan.
Released in multiple languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam - the movie grossed over Rs 1,000 crore worldwide.
On the career front, Arshad Warsi was last seen in the web series Modern Love Mumbai. He is set to appear next alongside Akshay Kumar in the third installment of Jolly LLB.
