Ali Fazal wants Sajid Khan, a #MeToo accused, ejected from Bigg Boss 16
text_fieldsMumbai: The latest famous person to voice their disgust with MeToo accuser Sajid Khan's participation in the Salman Khan-hosted programme Bigg Boss 16 is actor Ali Fazal. Ali recently reposted a post on Instagram calling for the expulsion of director Sajid from the reality series. A hand holding a lighter is seen burning the Bigg Bigg 16 star Sajid Khan poster in the original photo published by the artist Smish Designs. The poster was captioned, "Evict Sajid Khan from Bigg Boss now!"
After nine women in the industry who had collaborated with Khan on his numerous productions accused the director of sexual harassment, Sajid became embroiled in the #MeToo scandal in 2018. According to ANI, actresses like Saloni Chopra, Sherlyn Chopra, Aahana Kumra, and Mandana Karimi had made accusations against him.
Many people, including singer Sona Mohapatra who claimed that music composer Anu Malik harassed her, have criticised Colors TV's choice to allow Sajid into the Bigg Boss house, NDTV reported.
"This is #SajidKhan , now on a reality TV show. Then there is #AnuMalik judging a music reality show on TV, for children no less. #KailashKher ? Celebrity Judge on TV. ALL called out by many many women in @IndiaMeToo. Indian TV channels, executives are indeed depraved and sad lot," she had tweeted.
After hearing the accusations, Sajid made the moral decision to resign from his position as director of "Houseful 4" in 2018. Filmmaker Farhad Samji was given the reins for the direction. Additionally, he said that his family was under "pressure" when he made his decision.
It will now be interesting to watch if Colors TV decides to remove Sajid from the programme.
