TMC dubiously collecting voter data in Goa: Congress, GFP
text_fieldsPanaji: The Congress and Goa Forward Party (GFP) alleged on Saturday that Trinamool Congress and poll strategy firm IPAC collected voters data dubiously while the state is heading to the election scheduled on February 14, PTI reported.
Goa Congress general secretary Sunil Kawthankar and general secretary of GFP Durgadas Kamat told media that they filed a joint complaint before the Chief Election Commission in New Delhi against Trinamool and IPAC.
Kawthankar said that TMC and IPAC are distributing cards to women in the state, telling them that they will get money when TMC comes to power here. They are collecting the women's personal details through the process, he claimed.
He said that TMC claimed that around three lakh women and more than two lakh men have enrolled for certain schemes. But through the purported schemes, the party is collecting massive amounts of people's data, and it will be used for other purposes, he said.
Meanwhile, Kamat said that since the complaint was registered before CEC, TMC and IPAC can't go further with their dubious exercise.
