Bengaluru: Information technology services provider Infosys said on Friday that Shaji Mathew will take over as group head of human resources on March 22, 2023. He will be taking over from Krish Shankar, who has held the position for more than eight years and is retiring from the company next month.

Salil Parekh, CEO & MD, Infosys, said, “We are delighted to announce Shaji will take over as Group Head of Human Resources. Shaji has been with Infosys for over 30 years. With his in-depth knowledge of our company as well as vast leadership experience, we are confident he will steer our HR function for continued success.”

According to Infosys, Krish Shankar has spearheaded the creation of a compelling employee value proposition, assisted in creating an ecosystem built on digital capabilities, and facilitated digital career paths for staff members. Throughout and after the epidemic, he played a crucial role in the efficient management of the staff and smooth operation of the firm while upholding an unflinching commitment to employee wellbeing, the New Indian Express reported.

Shaji is currently the worldwide chief of delivery for Infosys' financial services, insurance, healthcare, and life sciences divisions. As the Chair for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in India, he has been leading the company's initiatives to develop a more inclusive workforce, it was revealed in a regulatory filing.

Shaji graduated with honours from the National Institute of Technology in Calicut and Stanford University Graduate School of Business' Global Leadership Program. He formerly served as the zonal chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry.
