San Francisco: Elon Musk on his newly acquired social media platform said that he was forced to buy Twitter. The billionaire caused quite the ruckus during his acquisition of the microblogging platform and Twitter management even took him to court for causing the company to face tough days.

Since then, many have asked why he really bought Twitter. Responding to such a question on the platform, he said "they forced me to buy it". He was responding to a meme by Doge Designer that showed him laughing along with the text "they said I could never Twitter."

Many users responded to Musk's statement with more memes. One wrote: "No, a legally binding, poorly thought out, overly expensive offer by you forced you to buy it." Another teased a scenario of Musk trying to buy Amazon by tapping "add to cart" on his phone.

A few weeks ago, Musk said he could not believe that he bought the platform. "Sucks that I had to sell so much Tesla stock to do so (sigh)."

Since acquiring Twitter, Musk has fired dozens of employees including entire teams. He also refused to pay rent of some buildings which led to lawsuits. Terminated employees are also taking him to court over not paying the promised severance.
