London: The Adani Group, a leading player in India's transition towards green energy, has inaugurated 'The Adani Green Energy Gallery' at the Science Museum in London.

This gallery aims to showcase the vision of a sustainable future driven by renewable energy and low-carbon technologies.

Billionaire Gautam Adani made the announcement, expressing his delight at the collaboration with the Science Museum in London. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he highlighted the significance of the gallery in presenting a scientific vision for a sustainable future. The Science Museum, established in 1857, stands as a prominent tourist attraction in London.

The Adani Group has set ambitious targets to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 or earlier for five of its portfolio companies, which include Adani Green Energy, Adani Energy Solutions, Adani Ports & SEZ, ACC, and Ambuja Cements. The conglomerate, known as India's largest integrated infrastructure developer, is dedicated to leading India's green energy transition.

Gautam Adani previously announced plans to invest approximately $100 billion in India's green energy transition over the next decade. As part of this initiative, the Adani Group aims to scale up its solar manufacturing capacity to 10 GW by 2027.

The portfolio businesses under the Adani Group have adopted active strategies to decarbonize and have pledged to plant 100 million trees by 2030. Additionally, they are undertaking innovative projects such as the development of hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks.

Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), a subsidiary of the Adani Group, currently boasts an operating renewable portfolio exceeding 9 GW, making it the largest in India. Spread across 12 states, AGEL's locked-in growth trajectory is set to reach 20.8 GW.

In 2022, dozens of organizations protested against the Science Museum for taking a sponsorship from the Indian coal-producing conglomerate.
