Kuwait: Indian Embassy hosts 'AI Impact Dialogue 2026'

The Embassy of India in Kuwait, in collaboration with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) Kuwait Chapter, organised the “India–Kuwait AI Impact Dialogue 2026” on January 19, 2026, at the Salwa Sabah Conference Center in Kuwait.

The dialogue was held as a lead-up to the “India AI Impact Summit 2026”, scheduled to take place in New Delhi from February 16 to 20, 2026. The event brought together professionals and experts from Kuwait’s information technology sector to discuss developments and cooperation in artificial intelligence.

Discussions focused on AI-driven innovation, ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence, capacity building and opportunities for collaboration between India and Kuwait in emerging digital technologies.

Addressing the gathering, Indian Ambassador Paramita Tripathi said India remains committed to using artificial intelligence for inclusive development and to strengthening partnerships with countries such as Kuwait in research, technology, education, health, energy and innovation. She highlighted India’s progress in AI and digital technologies, noting that the country has established itself as a global hub for artificial intelligence, supported by a large talent pool of more than five million technology professionals.

She said India ranks among the leading countries in AI skill penetration and in the application of AI across sectors including healthcare, agriculture, finance, education and governance. These developments, she said, have contributed to productivity gains and innovation, supported by India’s digital public infrastructure.

The ambassador also referred to India’s startup ecosystem, which includes more than 100,000 startups and over 100 unicorns, with a growing number focused on AI-based solutions across fintech, health tech, climate technology, logistics, smart cities and enterprise automation.

The event was also addressed by Rohit Agarwal, chairperson of the ICAI Kuwait Chapter, who underlined the importance of closer collaboration between the technical sectors of India and Kuwait.

The keynote address from India was delivered by Nithya Subramanian, Senior Director Data and AI Code at Best Buy, on “Building an AI-Ready Organization: Data Culture, Digital Literacy & Leadership”.

Jamal Al-Humoud, founder and chief executive officer of Journey Consulting in Kuwait, led a session on “Building Trustworthy AI: Safety, Security & Governance in the Age of Generative AI”. The programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session.

The India-Kuwait AI Impact Dialogue 2026 forms part of the embassy’s ongoing outreach to highlight India’s capabilities in artificial intelligence, innovation and digital public infrastructure, while encouraging exchanges of expertise and best practices.

The “India AI Impact Summit 2026” was announced by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the France AI Action Summit in February 2025. The summit will bring together global leaders, policymakers, industry representatives, researchers and innovators. It will be hosted in New Delhi from February 16 to 20, 2026, and will be the first global AI summit to be held in the Global South.
