Kuwait condemns Iranian attacks as air defences intercept missiles, drones

Kuwait strongly condemned repeated Iranian attacks on its territory after air defence systems intercepted two ballistic missiles and 13 drones that entered the country’s airspace early on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the latest attack as a violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty, a direct threat to national security and a serious breach of international law.

The ministry said the continued attacks came despite regional and international efforts to reduce tensions, warning that such actions undermine diplomatic initiatives and disregard international support for de-escalation.

Kuwait said its security, sovereignty and the safety of citizens and residents remain a “red line”.

The ministry also affirmed Kuwait’s right to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, security and stability.

Separately, the Ministry of Defence said Kuwaiti air defences successfully intercepted two hostile ballistic missiles and 13 hostile drones that breached the country’s airspace early on Wednesday.

No casualties or material damage were reported.

Colonel Staff Saud Al-Otaibi, spokesman for the Ministry of Defence, said the Armed Forces remain fully prepared and continue to operate under constant readiness to protect the country and ensure the safety of citizens and residents.
