Bollywood singer Shaan said the untimely demise of his friend and co-worker KK still seems unbelievable. He added that it is frustrating that no one around KK recognised the symptoms of a heart attack.
The 53-year-old singer passed away on May 31 right after performing in Kolkata.
Shaan told Bollywood Hungama that KK was a private person who was careful about maintaining a healthy lifestyle. KK slept early and woke up to do yoga and swimming. Shaan recalled that KK never did more than eight shows a month no matter how much money was offered. He kept ignoring his heart condition because he thought it was acid reflux.
KK has worked with Shaan on several songs together and fans remember their duets fondly.
Shaan added that KK's death is an "absolute shock". He admitted to feeling frustrated that no one recognised that the acute pain in the back, shoulder, and arm pain can be symptoms of a heart attack. "I am sad and frustrated that no one thought his heart should be checked".
He encouraged everyone to get their hearts checked at least once every two years.
