New Delhi: Police in the US state of Florida charged a woman for stabbing with a needle in the eye of her boyfriend.

Sandra Jimenez assaulted her boyfriend with the need of a syringe for the rabies shots he had brought home.

An argument broke out between them on Saturday in their home in Miami-Dade County.

The victim was rushed to a local hospital after one eyelid was pierced, according to police report.

The 44-year-old was upset about the man looking at the other women and an argument was underway.

The man was lying on a couch when Jimenez pierced the right eyelid after jumping on him with two needles in her hands.

The boyfriend dialled 911 after she fled the scene; and police found Jimenez sleeping in her car outside the house.

She has not pleaded guilty, claiming the injuries were self-inflicted.
