Gang rape, fraud: BJP MLA, associates booked in Uttar Pradesh
text_fieldsLucknow: On the direction of a special court in Uttar Pradesh’ Badaun, BJP MLA from Bilsi, Harish Chandra Shakya, his two brothers, and 13 others were booked for gangrape, fraud, coercion, etc., The Indian Express reported.
The court issued the directions 10 days ago, and the state police filed an FIR naming the accused only on Saturday. However, they said that they had started an investigation into the case and were collecting evidence.
The accused BJP leader denied the accusations but said he has full confidence in the police investigation. However, what should be noted is that the accused is a BJP MLA, and the party rules the state.
The complainant in the case moved the special MP/MLA court, alleging that the accused BJP MLA and his associates were pressuring his family to sell land at a prime location in Badaun for two years. But his grandfather refused, which led the MLA’s associate to pressure them to meet the MLA and sell the land for Rs 17 crore.
More pressure led to an agreement to sell the land for Rs 16.50 crore and 40 per cent of the amount to be paid upfront, with the remainder to be settled once the deal is done. The family was paid Rs 1 lakh immediately, but no documentation was given, the complainant alleged.
In two days, the MLA associates started to pressure the family to transfer the land. When the family refused to proceed with the sale until the full amount was paid, two false cases were filed against them. The MLA associates coerced them to provide a thumb impression on documents, which valued the land only for Rs 4 crore. Further, he said that his wife got sexually assaulted when she went to meet the MLA at his camp office on September 17.
