Will cut foreign aid for countries that hate US: Republican candidate Nikki Haley

Washington: Nikki Haley, US Presidential candidate for Republican Party, said if voted to power, she will stop foreign aid for countries that hate the US.

Nikki Haley put China and Pakistan in the list of countries that will not receive any aid from the US, because "a strong America doesn't pay off the bad guys", she said.

In the op-ed she wrote for New York Post, Haley said a proud America does not waste people’s hard-earned money, adding that ‘I will cut every cent in foreign aid for countries that hate us. A strong America doesn't pay off the bad guys’.

The Former Governor of South Carolina and former US ambassador to the UN pointed out that America spent $46 billion on foreign aid last year, more than by any country.

Much of the money spent in aid, according to her, goes to fund Anti-American countries and causes, knowing which will be a shock to the taxpayers, she said.

Nikki Haley, who launched her 2024 campaign for the White House on February 15, is now the first Indian American woman from the Republican Party to run for the White House.

To ram her point home, Haley cited examples of over USD 2 billion given to Iran over the last few years and Iran government, according to her, is getting close to ‘murderous thugs’ that shout ‘Death to America’.

"The Biden administration resumed military aid to Pakistan, though it's home to at least a dozen terrorist organizations and its government is deeply in hock to China. Team Biden restored half a billion dollars to a corrupt United Nations agency that's supposed to help the Palestinian people but in fact covers for deeply anti-Semitic propaganda against our ally Israel," she wrote.

After Nikki Haley launched campaign, another Indian-American Vivek Ramaswamy on Wednesday announced his candidature for US presidential polls.
