Waiting for Imran Khans nod to remove three people behind the attack: PTI leaders

Islamabad: Hours after the failed attempt on his life, Imran Khan emerged from the initial shock and dismay, to continue to attack the Pakistan administration—this time particularly to blame three top officials for the attack.

Pakistan is barely back on track after Khan was attacked near his campaign truck in Wazirabad in Punjab that left one dead and seven including Khan himself injured.

Now senior leaders of Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Thursday quoted the injured Khan as blaming prime minister Shahbaz Sharif and two other top officials for the attack.

PTI leaders including Asad Umar and Mian Aslam Iqbal reported as Khan believed based on information he received that Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and Director General (C) ISI Major General Faisal Naseer were also behind the attack.

There are three people whose behest this was done, the leaders were reported to be saying, according to ANI.

In the midst of allegations against him, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif sought a report from Interior Minister.

PTI general secretary Asad Umar said in a video that Khan wanted the three people in power to be removed from their posts, and Umar added that there would be a country-wide protest if these people were not removed.

The suspect arrested for firing at the PTI march causing casualties said he wanted to kill Khan for " misleading the public"

The shooter reportedly said that he could not tolerate Khan misleading the people so he tried to him, aiming only at Khan.

"I thought of this as there was Azaan going on and on the other side, Imran Khan is taking out his container and making noise. My conscience did not approve of this. I decided this suddenly... I conspired against Imran Khan from the day he kicked off his long march from Lahore. I made up my mind that I will not leave him alive," the shooter said in a video.

The shooter also said there was nobody else in the conspiracy, adding that he came on a bike which he parked near his uncle's motorcycle showroom, before heading to commit the act.

Faisal Javed Khan, a Senator of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who was injured in "the firing incident" said it was an "assassination attempt" on the former Pakistan Prime Minister.

Imran Khan started his long march to gain wide attention in the nation that called for snap elections.
