Trump’s mugshot appears on his campaign t-shirt with slogan ‘Never Surrender’
text_fieldsNew York: The former US President Donald Trump’s mugshot from Atlanta jail began appearing on his campaign t-shirts.
The photo, showing an unsmiling tight-lipped Trump, was released by Georgia authorities on Thursday after his arrest on charges of racketeering and conspiracy.
Now t-shirt carrying the photo with caption ‘Never Surrender’ is selling on his campaign website for $34.
The mugshot is well on the path to become iconic as Trump is likely to widely use it to ram home his victimhood and relevance.
His detractors will also use the photo to belittle his campaign, projecting him as a threat to democracy.
Trump, who is running for president in the 2024 election, has been booked on more than a dozen felony counts
Trump has become the first president in the US history to face criminal charges—that too for several times, according to reports.
Authorities in Georgia treated him like any other criminal defendant taking his mugshot, and fingerprints.
The case was related to Trump’s alleged move to overturn his 2020 election loss in the state.
The 77-year-old quickly took advantage of the photo, posting it on his social media platform Truth Social.
The mugshot appeared on his campaign site as a solicitation for donations.
‘Today, at the notoriously violent jail in Fulton County, Georgia, I was arrested despite having committed no crime,’ he reportedly wrote on the campaign website.
He further said ‘What has taken place is a travesty of justice and election interference’.
