Trump's daughter calls violent Trump supporters "patriots", deletes the tweet
text_fieldsWashington: Ivanka Trump, daughter of the outgoing US president, reportedly has taken out a tweet that addressed the unruly mob at Capitol building "patriots"
"American Patriots – any security breach or disrespect to our law enforcement is unacceptable. The violence must stop immediately. Please be peaceful." She tweeted.
Ms Trump's tweet followed one shared by the president moments before, in which he encouraged rioters to "stay peaceful" and "please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement", The Independent reported.
Ivanka however did not allow her tweet to continue on the social media.
Anticipating criticism, she had to weigh in with clarification responding to a correspondent.
She tweaked her words clarifying a question on if she meant these crowds were patriots: "No. Peaceful protest is patriotic. Violence is unacceptable and must be condemned in the strongest terms."
Her brother Donald Trump Jr called out the violent protests on Twitter, terming the behaviour displayed by the rioters "wrong".
