Trump to overhaul gender policies and end federal diversity programmes

Incoming U.S. President Donald Trump is set to implement sweeping changes to federal gender and diversity policies shortly after his inauguration.

According to a White House official, Trump plans to issue executive orders requiring the U.S. government to recognise only two biological sexes - male and female - and to eliminate federal funding for diversity programs.

The executive orders aim to establish a policy limiting gender recognition by the federal government to biological sex assigned at birth. “The United States will officially recognise only two sexes: male and female,” the official stated.

This controversial move will likely trigger legal challenges from advocacy groups and opponents who argue it undermines the rights of marginalised communities.

Trump’s directives also seek to dismantle federal diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Citing past training programs that highlighted systemic racism, including allegations that all white individuals contribute to racism, the incoming administration intends to terminate funding for such initiatives.

“The Department of Treasury once funded diversity training that labeled all white people as contributors to racism, regardless of their individual beliefs. This type of funding will end,” the official explained.

Alongside these executive orders, Trump plans to push Congress to pass legislation formalising the recognition of only two genders at the federal level.

During his campaign, Trump frequently criticised diversity and inclusion policies, alleging they unfairly targeted white men. His administration’s latest measures reflect a continuation of those campaign promises to challenge what he described as “woke culture” in government and corporate spaces.
