Washington: President Donald Trump accused former President Barack Obama of revealing classified details after Obama stated in a podcast that aliens exist.

During a chat with reporters on Air Force One, Fox News' Peter Doocy asked Trump: “Barack Obama said that aliens are real. Have you seen any evidence of non-human visitors to Earth?”

Trump replied, “Well, he gave classified information. He’s not supposed to be doing that.”

When pressed on aliens' existence, Trump added: “I don’t know if they’re real or not. I can tell you he gave classified information. He’s not supposed to be doing that. He made a big mistake. He took it out of classified information.”

Trump hinted at possible action: “I may get him out of trouble by declassifying.”

The exchange followed Obama's appearance on the “No Lie” podcast with Brian Tyler Cohen last weekend. Asked about extraterrestrials, Obama said: “They’re real, but I haven’t seen them,” denying any Area 51 cover-up. “There’s no underground facility, unless there’s this enormous conspiracy, and they hid it from the president of the United States.”

Obama later clarified via social media: “saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us. I was trying to stick to the spirit of the speed round, but since it’s gotten attention, let me clarify. Statistically, the universe is so vast that the odds are good there’s life out there. But the distances between solar systems are so great that the chances we’ve been visited by aliens is low, and I saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us. Really!”

The White House pointed to Trump's comments when questioned on any classified breach.

Trump has discussed UFOs and aliens before. In June 2019, he told ABC News of a brief meeting on the topic, saying, “people are saying they’re seeing UFOs. Do I believe it? Not particularly.”

That year, he told Tucker Carlson: “Well, I don’t want to really get into it too much. But personally, I tend to doubt it. I’m not a believer, but you know, I guess anything is possible.”

In June 2020, on Roswell, he noted: “I won’t talk to you about what I know about it, but it’s very interesting.”
