Warsaw: PM Modi reiterated India’s stand in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine that ‘ this isn’t an era of war’.

PM Modi made his well-known statement again during his visit to Poland while addressing the Indian community, two days before his visit to Ukraine.

It is reported that PM Modi will campaign for the peaceful resolution of the Russia’s invasion of the country.

‘India is an advocate of permanent peace in this region. Our stand is very clear - this isn't an era of war. This is the time to come together against those challenges which threaten humanity. Therefore, India believes in diplomacy and dialogues,’ PM Modi was quoted as saying.

PM Modi, who is the first Indian prime minister to visit Ukraine, is also the first in 45 years to visit Poland.

Poland is the key ally of Ukraine as well as the transit place for foreign leaders to visit the nation after the war broke out.

PM Modi is to visit Ukraine on August 23 following the invitation of the war-torn country’s president Volodymyr Zelensky.

PM Modi ‘s visit to Ukraine comes a few weeks after his visit to Russia which irked the US and its Western allies.

During an SCO summit in September 2022, the Prime Minister made the remarkable ‘ not an era of war’ comment while talking with Russia’s President Vladmir Putin.

Back then, PM Modi also emphasized 'the need to find ways to address the problems of food, fuel security and fertilisers’.

In Poland PM Modi laid wreaths at Jam Saheb of Nawanagar Memorial and Kolhapur Memorial in Warsaw, commemorating the shared history between two countries.
