Bangkok: The Thai king's eldest daughter is getting support for her vital organs after she collapsed last week.

Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol, 44, is receiving support for her heart, lungs, and kidney, AFP reported based on inputs from the palace sources.

Mahidol, known in Thailand as "Princess Bha", collapsed on Wednesday evening while attending a military dog training session at Nakhon Ratchasima, north of the capital Bangkok.

The princess was flown to a Bangkok hospital where she receives intensive medical care.

She is the eldest and only child of King Maha Vajiralongkorn from his first marriage.

Given the rules that recommend male heirs, the palace has not announced an heir apparent.

The palace in a statement on Monday said that her condition was "stable at one level", adding that the medical team offered her medicine and equipment to support her heart, lung and kidney.

The princess is noted for her ceremonial role in Thai society and the royal family still holds sway on the society protected from criticism by a defamation laws.
