15th G20 summit ended vowing to take every single step to ensure fair distribution of Corona virus vaccine. The two day long summit was held virtually due to the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis. King Salman bin Abdulaziz led Saudi Arabia hosted the summit highlighting the theme of "realizing opportunities of the 21st century for all".

We have mobilised resources to address the immediate financing needs in global health to support the research, development, manufacturing and distribution of safe and effective COVID-19 diagnostics, therapeutics and vaccines.- G20 leaders said in a closing statement.

Amid the escalating tensions regarding the vaccine distribution, the summit emphasized that "we will spare no effort to ensure their affordable and equitable access for all people".

The declaration added that the pandemic has exposed the "vulnerabilities in our preparedness and response".

During the G20 leaders' side event on pandemic preparedness and response, Saudi's King Salman bin Abdulaziz had said that the kingdom has contributed $500 million for activities related to vaccine preparation.
