Michigan: Seventh-grader Dhillon Reeves is being hailed as a hero for stopping an accident by taking control of a bus when the driver passed out. The bus was veering toward oncoming traffic when he took charge.

The incident took place in Warren, Michigan, and was recorded in the camera above the driver. It showed the driver fanning herself with a baseball cap and telling the transportation office that she needs to pull over. The video also showed Dillon hitting the brake pedal and clutching the steering wheel, reported AP.

The boy was able to bring the bus to a safe stop on the busy Detroit area road. He is also heard yelling, "Someone call 911". The bus was full of middle-school kids.

Robert Livernois, superintendent of Warren Consolidated Schools, said: "In my 35-plus years of education, this was an extraordinary act of courage and maturity on his part. I don’t know that it could have gone any better. When you have an anchor like Dillon taking care of business on the bus, it really and truly was a good day for us."

While Dillon preferred to not speak to the media, his father said: "We’ve got a little hero. He’s been on my lap driving country roads, pulling into driveways since about 4 years old. ... He’s a good driver."
