Satellite images show Ukraine border teeming with Russian military vehicles

Washington: Just as the world is watching with angst, Russia is in no mood to back away from its military movement.

Satellite images show fresh deployment of about 100 military vehicles and many troop tents in Southern Belarus near Ukraine border.

Newly added to the military garrison in Western Russia is a field hospital, the images released by Maxar Technologies show.

Signaling at the likelihood of war, one soldier of Ukrainian military was reportedly killed and six wounded in east Ukraine in a shelling by pro- Russia separatists.

Ceasefire violations rocketed to highest pitch in the past 24 hours, reports say.

The situation along the border spiraled down to chaos after Russian lawmakers gave President Vladimir Putting a go-ahead to use force outside the country.

In what could be called a scramble to restore peace, Biden said that sanctions would be imposed on Russian elites and their family members.

However another report said Russian banks would also bear the brunt of the embargo. Referring to elite Russian families, Biden said, "They share in the corrupt gains of the Kremlin policies and should share in the pain as well".

With Putin approving of the independence of two Ukrainian regions, USA had little to do except sanctioning. Biden termed Putin's moves as "beginning of a Russian invasion' of Ukraine.

"Who in the Lord's name does Putin think gives him the right to declare new so-called countries on territory that belongs to his neighbours?" Biden blurted from the White House podium.

Obviously wary of getting embroiled, China reacted that sanctions were not the best way to solve problems.

In the thick of the situation, Russia welcomed what it said India's "Independent position "on the crisis.
