At least 37 people were killed following a Russian attack on Ukraine's Bucha district near the capital Kyiv, officials said Saturday.

Tymur Tkachenko, head of the regional military administration, said at least 50 residential buildings were damaged in the attack. The strikes also triggered a large fire that spread to homes and a restaurant.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said a warehouse in the village of Myla had been struck, followed by an explosion. He did not provide further details about the facility but said criminal proceedings had been opened over official negligence.

"There are regulations in place, ammunition cannot be stored near homes or other residential areas," Zelenskyy said.

A care home for elderly people and people with disabilities was also damaged, along with residential buildings. More than 370 people had been evacuated, with evacuation operations continuing, Zelenskyy said.

The attack comes as Kyiv faces a third consecutive day of near-constant air raids, severely disrupting civilian life and economic activity in the Ukrainian capital.

Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine has now continued for more than four years, with attacks repeatedly affecting Kyiv and surrounding areas.
