Russia accuses UK of involving in drone attack on Russian ships
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Russia has announced it is suspending the agreement to allow Ukrainian's grain exports after accusing the embattled nation of carrying out a drone attack on Russian ships in occupied Crimea on Saturday morning.
Russia's Defence Ministry alleged that the Kyiv regime involved in a terror attack on the Black Sea Fleet and civilian ships on the outer and inner roads of the Sevastopol base.
Sevastopol, which forms part of the Crimea, serves as Russia's logistical hub for operations in Ukraine, according to reports.
As well as accusing UK of helping with "training" and "supervision" of the drone attack, the statement further said the foiled attack involved nine unmanned aerial vehicles and seven autonomous maritime drones.
Britain has not responded to the charges that also said officials from the British Navy involved in plotting and organizing to blow up the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea on September 26.
Alongside, Russian said it had destroyed nine aerial drones and seven maritime ones involved in the attack early Saturday.
Following the attack, Russia suspended its role in the UN-brokered deal to allow grain exports from Ukraine linking its decision to the attack.
Meanwhile Russian had earlier criticized the deal to transport grains on the grounds that its grain exports suffered Western sanctions.
Following Russian's move against the export deal, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba tweeted to say that Ukraine already warned Russia's plan to ruin the initiative.
Dmytro Kuleba has also added that Moscow uses a false pretext to block the grain corridor which ensures food security for millions of people.
