New Delhi: Renowned investor Mark Mobius has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership and diplomatic efforts, calling him a deserving candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize. On Tuesday, in an interaction with IANS, Mobius highlighted PM Modi’s ability to engage with all political sides globally, positioning him as a potential key peacemaker amid ongoing international conflicts.

"PM Modi is a great leader and a great human being. His role internationally will grow in importance as he can engage with all sides of the political spectrum," said Mobius, emphasizing that the Prime Minister's diplomatic approach could make him a crucial figure in fostering peace.

Mobius, known for pioneering the first emerging markets fund, added that India’s neutral stance, particularly in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, demonstrated the country's potential to mediate global disputes. “India is in a very good position to act as a mediator for peace on the global stage,” he noted.

On the Nobel Peace Prize, Mobius remarked that PM Modi "is really capable of almost anything" and deserves the global award for his contributions to global peace and diplomacy.

The investor also pointed to PM Modi’s visit to Ukraine in August, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, as an example of India’s active involvement in promoting peace.

In his reflections, Mobius noted similarities between his philosophy and that of PM Modi, emphasizing optimism and a forward-looking perspective as common traits.
