New York: Jordan Neely harmed nobody on the New York City subway on Monday—apparently. He yelled he was hungry, that proved fatal.

He must have been certainly hungry, because he was homeless and added to it suffering from mental health issues, reports say.

Turned out, his cry for food fell in the deaf ears of the New Yorkers traveling on the F train in Manhattan.

Some of the fellow passengers of this thirty-year-old threw themselves upon him, and one of them, a US Marine veteran, held him in chokehold.

He died in the trap ‘from compression of the neck’, according to medical examination’.

A video circulating online, showing the cruel act, has it that he was helplessly flaying for breath.

At least some passengers remembered Neely from his impersonation of Michael Jackson previously on the train.

He used to dance Jackson in the Times Square transit hub, news agency Associated Press reported.

One videos showed him pulling off Jackson’s swagger effortlessly, wearing a humble Jackson-stage outfit.

The veteran marine and others who joined him held Neely in the fatal trap for two minutes and 55 seconds, before his lifeless body sagged.

Before this happened, Neely was reportedly seen pacing back and forth on the train.

Some witnesses said he was screaming that he was hungry and had no food, before throwing his jacket down on the train.

Three people restrained him which included the US Marine veteran who threw his arm around Neely’s neck holding him in a fatal grip.

Thus held in trap, Neely was trying to break free which caused his restrainers further tighten their grip.

Neely was pronounced dead at a Manhattan hospital shortly after.

Shockingly enough, the 24-year-old Marine veteran, who appeared to be white, was released without charges after he was taken into custody, according to reports.

Neely’s miserable death outraged thousands on social media, with many questioning the act as a ‘lethal overreaction to a person’ suffering from mental illness.

However there are still others who defended the Marine veteran, whose name has not been released.

On Wednesday afternoon, protesters turned up at the station where Neely miserably died, calling for the arrest of the Marine veteran and others.
