Khan’s ex-wife complains her kids being dragged into social media with a political agenda in Pakistan
text_fieldsLondon: Jemima Goldsmith, the former wife of the ousted Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, reacted to the fake social media accounts circulating as accounts belonging to her kids, expressing her fear of a similar situation when Elon Musk had his Twitter blue tick taken away.
She directly addressed the outgoing Twitter CEO Elon Musk and expressed her concern that her children are being dragged into social media with a political agenda in Pakistan.
In a tweet late Thursday, the 49-year-old said: Thanks @elonmusk... Fake accounts pretending to be my children, created by imposters with a political agenda in Pakistan. This is exactly what I feared would happen when you took away Twitter's verification blue ticks.
"FYI my children are not on social media & have no plans to be."
Goldsmith and Khan were married in May 1995 and divorced nine years later in June 2004.
Goldsmith has two sons from her marriage to Khan -- Sulaiman Isa (born 1996) and Kasim (born 1999).
Imran Khan has been under heavy security presence and effectively confined to his Lahore home since Thursday. This action came after Punjab Interim Information Minister Amir Mir demanded that Khan surrender dozens of alleged "terrorists" who are believed to be protesters involved in the recent vandalism and arson attacks on army installations.
