Caesarea/Israel: On the occasion of the start of the Jewish holiday on Monday, Israeli protesters burnt the symbolic Passover table outside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's house in the coastal town of Caesarea. The protesters staged the act, accusing Netanyahu of failing to repatriate Israeli hostages Hamas took to Gaza, Agence France-Presse reported.

Hundreds of protesters, including the relatives of hostages, gathered outside Netanyahu's gates here and demanded the release of hostages Hamas took on October 7. The protesters came down on the Prime Minister's leadership failures, too. They called him the worst PM in Israel's history.

According to Israeli officials, Hamas has 129 captives remaining in the Gaza Strip, which includes dead 34 as per the military.

One of the protesters said that Netanyahu didn't want the hostages to be saved since he didn't want the war to end or he would go to prison.

Jewish people are about to celebrate the holy fest Passover, meaning "holiday of freedom" in Hebrew. It commemorates the liberation of the Jewish people from the slavery of Egypt. The community have a ritual meal known as 'seder' on the first evening of the holidays. Those attend the meal sit around a tray laden with symbolic food, AFP reports.

The protesters set fire to the symbolic seder table after laying out empty places on another table to mark their relatives' continuing captivity.

Another protester said that all of them believe that Netanyahu is responsible for the "horrible disaster" of October 7.

On Monday, Netanyahu wrote on X as start of the Passover, "Tonight, we think of those who cannot join their families at the seder table. Their absence strengthens our resolve and reminds us of the urgency of our mission. We will not rest until each one is freed."

"… our resolve remains unyielding to see all hostages back with their families," he claimed.
