Iran launches new strikes against Qatar
text_fieldsAmid continuing uncertainty and tensions in the region, Iran has once again launched an attack targeting Qatar. The latest attempt occurred around 12 noon on Thursday, raising concerns across West Asia.
According to Al Jazeera, loud explosions were heard repeatedly in different parts of Doha. The report added that more than a dozen attacks were carried out in areas across Doha city, including near the U.S. Embassy.
Earlier, as a precautionary measure, residents living near the U.S. Embassy in Qatar had been temporarily relocated by the Interior Ministry. This followed an incident last Tuesday when a drone fell near the U.S. Consulate, after which the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the U.S. Consulate in Dubai were temporarily closed. In this context, people residing near the U.S. Embassy in Doha were also moved for safety reasons.
The Defence Ministry confirmed that the country had come under a missile attack but stated that the air defence systems successfully intercepted all incoming threats. Authorities have urged citizens, residents, and visitors to remain vigilant and follow all safety instructions issued by officials.
