Iran denies attacking Oman, blames US-Israel 'false flag'

Tehran/Muscat: Iran has officially denied involvement in Wednesday's drone attack on fuel tanks at Oman's Salalah port, calling it "suspicious" and accusing the US-Israel alliance of staging it to tarnish Tehran's image.
Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, which coordinates its armed forces, informed Oman it will investigate the incident. Tehran views Oman as a "friendly neighbor" and insists it would never launch military action against it.
President Masoud Pezeshkian spoke by phone with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, who expressed strong dissatisfaction over repeated attacks on Omani soil. The Sultan affirmed all measures to protect national security and stressed the urgent need to end the conflict.
Omani forces shot down several drones targeting Salalah's fuel storage, though some hit tanks. That same day, two drones struck near Duqm port—one downed by defenses, the other crashing into the sea. No casualties occurred, per Omani news agency.
As a precaution, Salalah port operations remain suspended, with shipping firms like Maersk halting services. Damage occurred but fuel supply nationwide is unaffected, the Energy Ministry confirmed.
