Indian-origin man lands job at Tesla after 5-month long struggle

New York: An Indian origin man recounts on LinkedIn his struggles in securing a job suggesting that experience can be quite emotionally draining, NDTV reports.
Dhruv Loya, originally from Pune, India, graduated recently from the University at Buffalo (UB).
Loya shared the challenges he overcame before landing his dream job at Tesla.
However, it took five-month search for him to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Dhruv Loya in his post on the platform said that he submitted over 300 applications alongside sending 500 cold emails.
Further he attended 10 interviews before securing the position of Powerwall Technical Support Specialist at Tesla.
He underwent all these struggles despite having GPA, internships, and active extracurriculars such as rowing and winning a dance competition at UB.
Dhruv Loya recounts that he had faced a difficult period of unemployment.
He underwent the tough situation of financial hardship, losing his lease and health insurance.
The uncertainty of his visa status added to the worries just as he depended on friends’ apartments, using their mattresses.
Loya then devised a strategic approach in his job search treating it as a full-time job.
He dedicated weekdays to sending applications, and spent evenings and weekends to unwind himself from the stress.
Giving more details, he said had he relied on online platforms like LinkedIn, Indeed, Handshake, and Jobright.ai for job searching.
He used tools such as Hunter.io for cold emailing and ChatGPT+ for preparing resume and tailoring cover letter.
Graduated with a 3.4 GPA in May 2024, Loya got internships at CoreHaptics, Boehringer Ingelheim.
Settled in New York, Dhruv Loya's story could be an inspiration to others struggling get a dream job.
