A footage going viral on China’s social media Weibo shows a man venting his fury on a woman by running his car over her multiple times.
The man was seen frequently coming out of the car to check if the woman who is now identified as his wife was still alive, before getting back into the car to drive it over her again.
After the video went viral racking up 300 million views, the police in Dongying cityn detained the man for crushing his 38-year-old wife to death over family disputes, according to CNN.
Police are currently investigating the murder that had taken place in broad daylight.
This dreadful murder follows another one in the southern province of Guangdong last month where a man stabbed his wife and her sister-in-law to death.
The wife was killed when she was planning divorce after suffering years of domestic violence, the report said.
In another case a woman had to spend eight days in intensive care unit in April after her husband attacked her for applying for divorce and seeking court protection.
The woman later took to social media saying that her husband had attacked her 16 times in their two years of marriage and the latest one was at a hotel room.
However, the latest incident opened up pent-up feelings of young Chinese about the question of marriage, giving rise to a raging debate online.
