Madrid: A picture captured by Google Maps camera car helped solve a year-long murder mystery in Spain.

Google Street View snapped exactly when a person stowed away a suspected corpse into a car.

The picture became a vital clue for the police in northern Spain to arrest a man and woman for allegedly murdering a 32-year-old Cuban.

Jorge Luis Perez was allegedly killed in the village of Andaluz, and his dismembered body was discovered in the village.

The arrested individuals are believed to be a Cuban man and his ex-wife who was previously married to the victim.

The male suspect was from the quiet village of Tajueco where, according to the locals, ‘nothing ever happens’, EI Pais reported.

The revelation virtually shocked people in the area with many wondering about the immense powers of technology.

A spokesman for Spanish National Police said that cops detained two people allegedly involved in the disappearance and death of a man who had gone missing in November last year.

Authorities added that ‘Part of the victim's remains have been found buried in a cemetery in Andaluz in Soria using 'advanced techniques. One of the clues investigators were working with was images from an online search location application’.

Police are seeking further details of the chilling murder just as the rural community grapples with the revelations.
