French author Annie Ernaux wins Nobel Prize in Literature

Stockholm: French author Annie Ernaux won the 2022 Noble Prize for literature, Associated Press reported.
The 82-year-old Ernaux was awarded for "the courage and clinical acuity with which she uncovers the roots, estrangements and collective restraints of personal memory," AP quoted the Nobel committee.
On Thursday, Mats Malm, the permanent secretary of the Swedish Academy, announced the winner in Stockholm, Sweden.
It was on Monday, and a week of Nobel Prize announcements started. The scientist, Svante Pääbo, receive the Prize in medicine for unlocking the secrets of Neanderthal DNA.
On Tuesday, Alain Aspect, John Clauser and Anton Zeilinger shared the Nobel in Physics for showing that tiny particles can retain a connection with each other even when separated.
On Wednesday, Carolyn R Bertozzi, Morten P Meldal and Karl Barry Sharpless shared the Nobel in Chemistry for developing ways of connecting molecules that can be used to design more targeted drugs.
The 2022 Nobel Peace Prize will be announced on Friday and the economics award on Oct. 10.
