Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said Tehran has introduced a new arrangement to manage the “special conditions” facing the country, while asserting that intensified economic pressure has failed to achieve the enemy’s objectives.

In a post on X, Pezeshkian said Iran had been facing mounting economic pressure in recent months but claimed that the government, with the support of the Iranian people, had prevented its adversaries from achieving their goals in what he described as an “economic war”.

“The government has adopted a new arrangement to manage these special conditions,” Pezeshkian said.

He alleged that the enemy’s plan had been to disrupt Iran’s vital economic channels in an effort to pressure the Iranian people.

“Economic pressure has intensified, but by the grace of God, with the accompaniment of the people and the measures taken by our colleagues in the government, we have not allowed the enemy’s objectives in the economic war to be realized,” the Iranian President said.

Pezeshkian’s remarks came amid continuing tensions linked to the conflict and growing economic pressure on Iran.

US President Donald Trump, meanwhile, said the war with Iran would end “very quickly” and predicted a sharp fall in oil prices once the conflict comes to an end.

Trump, speaking to reporters after arriving in Texas and later during a visit to a Peterbilt Motors facility in Denton, said Iran was facing a choice over how the conflict would conclude.

“Iran will very soon be ending one way or the other,” Trump said, pointing to what he described as severe economic and military pressure on the country.

He claimed Iran was facing 301 per cent inflation, had little money and no functioning currency, while its military capabilities had been severely degraded.

“And, one way or the other, it’s going to end very quickly. And when that ends, oil prices are going to drop like a rock,” Trump said.
