The internet is full of weight loss tips but a list of foods shared on Reddit has gone viral for its ridiculous length.

A user shared the long list of foods their doctor recommended avoiding in order to lose weight. Other users on the platform were quick to call out the post. While some foods on the list are commonly recommended to be skipped, others seem unnecessary and nonsensical.

The list titled 'diet to be followed' asked to not eat beef, steak, pork, raw green chillies, chakalaka, pickles, kinds of seafood, eggplant, cold juice, alcohol, microwaved foods, stale rice, potatoes, yoghurt, sour items, pickles, feta cheese, hot chocolate, peanut butter, nuts, corn products, lettuce, cucumber, and sweet/sour sauces.

The user wrote that their doctor gave the list to lose weight and maintain good health. "It gets worse as the list progresses". The post already has over 60K upvotes and 11K comments.

Many users criticised the bizarre suggestion against lettuce and cucumber as they are most popularly recommended for weight loss. Most doctors suggest eating fibre-rich, water-rich foods to be healthy. Some others joked by asking whether the list was provided by a real doctor or not.

Earlier, another Reddit post went viral for the wrong reasons when a recipe book titled a dish 'Indian curry' and called it the national dish of India. The dish in the picture was made of apples. The page was from a book called 'Famous Foreign National Dishes' by an unknown author. While many wrote Apple is a staple in Japanese cuisine, another user clarified that the author may have confused native Americans with Indians. Apple is used in cooking among native Americans.

More recently, a user offended a lot of foodies and health enthusiasts by combining Coca-Cola and salad. The recipe for Coca-Cola salad had unhealthy ingredients like orange jelly and cream cheese as well. The user wrote that they found it in an old Southern cookbook.
