London: As London is boiling in prickly heat, even soldiers who are known for their endurance find it hard to stand it.

At a rehearsal event for Prince William’s official birthday parade, three soldiers collapsed from heat while the Prince himself was present.

Soldiers fainted during the rehearsal for annual Trooping the Colour parade, Fox News reported.

They were in their iconic red woollen tunics and bearskin hats that too in 30-degree Celsius heat.

A footage going viral showed a military trombonist getting up after fainted to continue to play when the medics rushed in to his help.

The temperature in London on Saturday was recorded at 30 C (86 F).

Appreciating their work, later Prince William tweeted ‘A big thank you to every soldier who took part in the Colonel's Review this morning in the heat. Difficult conditions but you all did a really good job. Thank you. W’.

In a subsequent tweet he added that ‘The hard work and preparation that goes into an event like this is a credit to all involved, especially in today's conditions.’

The annual military parade to mark the monarch's official birthday is held in each June with pomp and colour, with King Charles III overseeing the ceremony on June 17.
