BBC presenter paid teenager for sexual photos, family alleges: report

London: At least a few of the BBC presenters have come out to deny they are not the person who paid a teenager for sexual photographs.

The BBC reacted to the allegations of the teenager’s family that the Sun reported by taking one of its presenters off air, The Guardian reported.

The Sun other day created a storm in media breaking that a ‘well known’ BBC presenter paid a teenager more than £35,000 in exchange for explicit images.

However, the newspaper did not give the names of the BBC presenter or the teenager who was 17 when the presenter allegedly began paying for explicit images, The Guardian reported.

Following the bombshell report, Rylan who is currently filming abroad for BBC asked for taking his name out of the allegation, saying “ that ain’t me babe. I’m currently filming a show in Italy for the BBC’.

Another presenter Jeremy Vine said he is not the person in question, adding that he was looking forward to hosting his radio show on Monday.

The teenager’s family complained to the BBC in May that payments by its presenter went to fund drugs.

The recipient’s mother told the outlet that seeing the broadcaster on TV makes her sick for destroying her child’s life.

‘Taking my child’s innocence and handing over the money for crack cocaine that could kill my child,’ she was quoted as saying.

She said that the family had begged the man to stop sending the cash to the teenager who is now 20 years.

Following this funding, she said her child has become ‘a ghost-like crack addict’ in three years.

The Sun further reported on Sunday that the mother claimed to have discovered on her child’s phone a still from a video call that showed the presenter in his underwear.

A BBC spokesperson earlier said that it takes allegations ‘seriously’ and deal with them ‘proactively’.
