Dhaka: A Bangladesh court sentenced former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to 10 years in prison on Monday over the Purbachal plot scam corruption case, with her niece and British MP Tulip Siddiq receiving four years.

Dhaka Special Judge Court-4 judge Md. Rabiul Alam also handed seven-year terms to Hasina’s nephew Radwan Mujib Siddiq and another niece Azmina Siddiq, alongside 10-year sentences for 12 other accused and shorter terms for additional individuals.

The court fined 22 accused, including Hasina, one lakh taka each, with six months extra jail time for non-payment.

This follows prior convictions: five years on December 1, 2025, for Purbachal irregularities (alongside Sheikh Rehana’s seven years and Tulip’s two), and 21 years on November 27, 2025, in three ACC cases.

Hasina and family rejected the charges as "malicious, politically motivated" by the Muhammad Yunus-led interim government, denying corruption and criticizing the ACC's handling under an unelected regime.
