Canberra: An Australian woman, who obtained a day off on a false medical excuse, was shocked to see her boss on the same plane.

Leila Soares posted a TikTok video that showed her helpless situation, gaining over 11 million views on the platform.

Soares disclosed that she had called in sick to work, making up a health-related white lie.

To her shock she found her boss on the same flight later in the day.

She had no hunch at the time of making up the excuse what will be in store for her.

‘Messaged my boss to call in sick only to find he on the same flight,’ she reportedly said.

As the passengers exit the JetStar flight, the video zooms in on man presumably her boss, before turning camera towards her face.

Soares appears to have tried to conceal identify by wearing a face maks, sunglasses and a cap.

However, she hoped that her boss was less likely to notice her as he boarded the flight through the front door.

Soares sat towards the back entering the flight through the rear door.

Many on social media shared their similar experience of a boss discovering employees’ white lies.

One user was quoted as sharing a similar experience: ‘Happened to me I called in sick and went for shopping. At the checkout there she is right behind me and said ‘what are you buying?' I froze.’

Another user said: ‘I called in sick one time and went to the casino and saw my boss waving at me by the roulette machines.’
