Abudhabi: The Abu Dhabi Department of culture and Tourism announced that the twelfth edition of Abu Dhabi art will be held from 19 to 26 of November this year on virtual platforms.

In this year's edition, meetings with artists and curators will be merged with the galleries so that Abu Dhabi Art 2020 can bring out programmes that the audience will enjoy.

Saud Al Hosni, Acting Undersecretary of the Department of Culture and Tourism, said: "Abu Dhabi art has always been a basic ingredient of the thriving cultural scene in Abu Dhabi, and it always plays a major role in translating Abu Dhabi's plans to promote its reputation, the digital edition of Abu Dhabi Art has great importance than any pastime, as it is a certificate for our commitment to the development of art, Abu Dhabi Art will adapt to the current situation the world is going on, and it will continue to support the art during these difficult times."

Abu Dhabi Art has invited international curators from various geographical regions, each section of the exhibition will include "A Look to Tomorrow", a section devoted to contemporary art from various parts of the African continent under the patronage of Simon Ngami; And "Contemporary Korean Art", which exhibits the art scene from South Korea, under the direction of Curator Sung Woo Kim; The "India Today" section, which focuses on galleries from the Indian subcontinent, sponsored by Ashwin Thadani; In addition to the "Picture from Memory" section of contemporary artists represented by Emirati galleries under the supervision of curator Nada Reda.

Diala Nusseibeh, Director of Abu Dhabi Art, said: "this year, Abu Dhabi Art invited many veteran curators to enhance their cooperation with galleries and artists through the existing and new sections of the exhibition, The international art faced a difficult and challenging year, and we are committed to supporting the galleries that took part in Abu Dhabi Art during the past years."

Abu Dhabi Art will also present Curator Maya Al Khalil's "Emerging Artist Horizons" program, a collection of artworks by emerging artists from the UAE, highlighting Abu Dhabi Art's commitment in supporting the young artists.

A series of interviews will also be broadcasted online, which include cultural dialogues with famous personalities in the field of art, that aims discussions about the ancient history of the UAE and contemporary art practices.
