600 drones target Moscow region in overnight Ukrainian assault, Russian officials say

Around 600 drones targeted Russia's Moscow region in a sustained overnight assault, injuring three people, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on Sunday.
Ukraine has been intensifying long-range strikes inside Russian territory.
Sobyanin said the drones were launched towards the Moscow region from Saturday evening until 6:30 am local time on Sunday. According to his statement, Russian forces destroyed 201 drones over the region.
Three people were injured in the area around the Moscow Ring Road, known as MKAD, and were receiving medical treatment, Sobyanin said.
Ukraine has increased attacks deep inside Russia in recent weeks, targeting military and industrial facilities as well as, more recently, e-commerce warehouses far from the front line.
The overnight attacks also affected Russia's southern Rostov region, which borders Ukraine. Regional Governor Yuri Sliusar said three people were killed and one was injured.
Sliusar said Russian forces destroyed more than 150 drones and missiles across three cities and nine districts in the region. Residential and industrial buildings were damaged in Kamensky district.
In Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, several buildings sustained roof damage, while windows were blown out in an apartment building and at the city's railway station, according to the governor.
The latest attacks come as the war enters its fifth year and Ukraine continues to use long-range drones to strike targets inside Russia.
